Micro-Adventure One: West Coast in a Day
Highlands to the Edge of Scotland | An Immersive Journey of Land, Sea & Spirit
Curated by Andrew Cowderoy in partnership with WildTrax
This micro-adventure is less about ticking boxes and more about embracing the journey. It is a day curated for those with a thirst for wild beauty, deep-breath moments, and a dram or two at the end of a winding road. Start your day in the Highlands, rising early for a full-cooked breakfast at Boath House before heading west with your guide (or in convoy). Whether you're behind your Land Rover Defender or prefer to sit back and be driven, the day is about letting the landscape lead. As the miles unfold, you’ll meander through glens, take in lochs, and perhaps cross the sea by ferry — your route shaped by weather, time, and opportunity. There may be coffee brewed roadside, a local distillery tucked away for a private tasting, a chance encounter with a fisherman or crofter, or lunch on a windswept hilltop overlooking a Hebridean island.
Your destination? That’s part of the magic. It could be a remote lighthouse, a white-sand beach, a coastal bothy, or Scotland’s westernmost point. You might dip your toes (or dive) into the Atlantic, pick up local produce from a roadside shack, or find yourself on a quiet forest trail with only red deer and ravens for company.
And always, always, the option to slow down, pause, and take the long road home — stopping if the light hits a mountain just right or a train passes beneath a famous viaduct. Dinner can be arranged back at the base or somewhere en route, beneath a canopy of stars or beside a peat fire.
This isn’t a tour. It’s an adventure. It’s Scotland as it’s meant to be felt raw, refined, untamed.
