To Tobermory & Back
A West Coast Escape in a Day
For those with a hunger for adventure and the Highlands at heart, this day-long journey offers a glimpse into Scotland’s wilder edge — a full-day escape from Boath Cabin or Boath House to the colourful harbour town of Tobermory on the Isle of Mull and back again, all in one unhurried sweep. You’ll begin your journey early, collected from your accommodation and welcomed into your Land Rover Defender — either chauffeur-driven or part of a self-drive convoy. With the rising sun at your back and a hot flask of coffee in hand, the route winds through the moorlands and glens of the west before crossing the sea by ferry. En route, we pause for short walks, scenic viewpoints, and perhaps a roadside brew with a view — always guided by the landscape and the light. In Tobermory, you’ll find time to wander its picture-perfect seafront, stop for a dram at the local distillery, or enjoy a seafood lunch fresh from the bay. Lunch is picnic-style or in one of the town’s local eateries — tailored to your preference and season. With stories shared, appetites satisfied, and a few tiny treasures in your rucksack, we begin our journey back to Boath by a different route — with more moments to stop, breathe, and soak in the stillness of the West. This is a day less about the destination and more about the motion — a Highland story told in full, from forest to sea and back again.
